How can I make the most of being in a beautiful location, without detracting from my work?

It’s the biggest conflict in my nomadic lifestyle.

What setups, routines or self-imposed rules/restrictions have my fellow nomads put in place to achieve balance between enjoyment and productivity?

I used to hop around a lot, but all I wanted to do is site see. Now I spend longer stints in places.

It’s easier to get in the local flow and knock out work, but if you’re always somewhere new, you always want to be out doing the fun stuff.

I do travel a lot currently, but I do see myself slowing down a bit in the future. I think this will work for me once I do. Until then, maybe I just need a work schedule ??

For me, I just stick to a 9 to 5 like everyone else. I have fun on weekends, and also go out after 5 if I feel like it.

So ironically, it can be to self impose a normal work schedule.

I think the take away from this is not necessarily working 9-5 but having a set schedule. I like a mid-day break and I rise early. Perhaps I could do 6-10 and then do a few more hours 2-4 or something similar ? Thanks for sharing what works for you ?

I break up my work week and my work day.

I only work part-time as it’s plenty of income and give myself Tuesday-Wednesday and the weekends to explore.

And I also start work early and make up for it with a long lunch to do something interesting in and then finish the day early to enjoy the afternoon.
